Colorless walls support a pale ceiling, bearing only great windows. In the reconstructed Jedi Temple on the rebuilt city planet of Coruscant a warriors room rests at the top of the tallest tower. It is the room of the Councils leader.
A red mattress stands on a silver frame, elongated above a bleach colored floor. No pictures add beauty to the room. No flowers add fragrance. A small withering tree stands in the corner farthest from the door. It is a reminder to any Jedi who should enter that all things die eventually. Even Jedi Knights.
A food replicator stands in a half shaped kitchen with only the vital basics that are needed to sustain life. Were it not for the distinct Force aura that fills the room it could have belonged to anyone.
It did not. These quarters. These most basic of quarters, belonged to the Jedi Master Dacen Valm. The heart of a warrior still remaining in his peaceful body, Master Valm needs no personal items. Such belongings lead to links to the past. To ideals and remembrance. Master Valm needs none of these. He is a Jedi, a leader of the Council and role model to students. Affinities will draw him away from his true purpose. The purpose of serving the Force.
It is in this home of sorts that Valm can meditate with the Force. It is here that he may listen to it's will and study the techniques that no one can finish learning. The Force is his Master as much as he Masters the padawans.
In these basic of basic quarters, a Jedi Master can find a place of emptiness and fill it with the joy that can only be found in serving a greater good.
